Glossary Item Box

Since the last version 8439, the development of Wintree has constantly been moving forward. In version 8537, available as from January 2016, a large number of big and small changes have been made, which for many users may mean a simplification of their work in Wintree.

The largest change concerns the improved communication possibilities with Treecommerce Messenger. After an intensive test period with a number of users, this function can now be activated for all Wintree users. Using this communication tool, both growers and traders can process their mutual trade with less administrative operations. Ask TSD for more information about this great communication tool.

Besides adding new functions, TSD also ensures that Wintree complies with the latest laws and regulations, for example the assigning of plant passports for crops in relation to the Xylella fastidiosa disease. Please read the extensive manual to configure Wintree in relation to this disease on the page Diseases.

TSD also helps to take care of you where possible, by offering large and small services. An example of a small service is the option where TSD updates all Commodity codes of goods to the newest standard,  which are effective as from the beginning of 2016. Please read on LINK how TSD can help with this.

In the overview below you can read about the most important, practical and obvious changes to functionality that have been made available in this version. The overview does not cover all of the changes that have been made. When working with Wintree other new fields or functions may pop up. If it is not clear what a function does, the TSD service department is always available to answer any question. Please send support request e-mails to support@tsd.nl. Please ensure the email has a clear description of the problem or question, also please attach screenshots where possible.

In the below overview, the numbers in the titles refer to an internal reference number. Please always mention this number if you have questions concerning this topic. Topics with (B) in the title are available for all users, irrespective of the module composition. Other topics are usually module may be dependent on the used modules.

Sometimes a parameter number is mentioned in the description. This parameter is used to activate a particular function. Please read the manual Parameters how parameters can be set using Wintree Help programs.

Transition from Crystal reports to Fast Reports
In recent years we have gradually switched over from Crystal Reports to Fast Reports, for both internal as well as external WinTree documents. The reason for this is that it gives us a better manageable printing solution. Nearly all standard documents are now available as Fast Reports documents. The use of Fast Reports is mandatory when using the Output service and WinTree Archive. As of the WinTree update of 2016, Fast Reports is the leading standard. Customised reports which have been developed for you in Crystal reports, can be converted to Fast Reports, this is a chargeable service. Because a customised report has the disadvantage of not being actively maintained (and this maintenance is charged), we recommend you to compare your customised report with the available standard WinTree Fast Report document, and to switch over to this standard if possible.

ShowStock alteration report (doc. nr.412); option to summarise by plant

The print settings of document 412, the Stock alteration report have been extended with an option to count the alterations by plant name (= add up numbers). It is possible to summarise by plant using a checkbox. When the checkbox is left unchecked, the report will be summarise by article, like before.

ShowFill up buffer stock, basic transfer booking program

When using Minimum stock you can choose to transfer stock via a temporary location to its final end location. Stock which is replenished via the temporary location, can be transferred to the end/buffer location, using the normal stock alteration options from the temporary location. To be able to complete easier and faster transfer bookings of stock batches from a temporary location (in which the size at the end location can still be updated by default), Wintree has a separate transfer booking program available.

This program is a part of Wintree Nursery Manager, in combination with a keyboard scanner. By scanning EAN barcodes, Wintree recognises the batch at the temporary location and immediately creates a stock alteration, after entering the correct quantity, to the end location.

This new option is especially useful for companies which work with buffer locations, where products are placed in a buffer location, prepared for the order picking.

Please contact TSD for more information about this option.

ShowAdvanced stock alteration screen: option to search by location number.

You can set parameter 2376 to be able to select a stock line through a drop-down list (default method) or a location number. When you use the location number, a column with the location description is still visible.
Issueno. 17573 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowGrowth sizes: improved and easier way of managing.

You can set parameter 2319 to automatically create growth sizes when making stock alterations. These growth sizes are stored with the article, not with the size. If an article has no existing growth sizes, the ones of the plant size will be used.

TSD can help you creating these growth-sizes based on the present stock alteration history. Please contact TSD if these growth sizes have to be added to the articles.

ShowAccelerate import, execute in the background.

Matching and processing of lists from an Excel file takes quite some time. Wintree has a new Task List function to accelerate this and other processes. In the properties of the menu's Maintain Import profiles and Maintain Search/Availability list you can indicate whether the time consuming processes have to be executed using the Task List function. As soon as an Excel file with fictitious stock is imported, the matching and processing will be done out of view of the user. The downloading of the Excel file will still be visible to the user. The user can carry on working in Wintree. When Wintree has completed this task, Wintree will communicate this by displaying a small yellow pop-up screen in the right upper corner.

The creation of an Wish/Stock list can also be done out of view of the user. This is handy especially with large lists, because it enables you to continue working in Wintree. The Task list pop-up screen is automatically displayed when Wintree is ready with the process.

Future developments will mean other time consuming processes will be able to be processed using this Task list.

Issueno. 18583 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowProduction Planning: new module.

Wintree has a new module which can be used to help planning production. This new module is in the early stages of development and not yet fully functional. The module offers an overview screen where, based on statistical information combined with data from the current season, a overview of the sales of articles is displayed. For each article, any target quantity can be entered. These numbers can subsequently be exported to Excel, to further build the true production planning in there.

Please contact TSD for more information about this new module.

ShowSales orders

ShowOrder Entry screen: do not classify for sustainable delivery.

For customers who require an environmental certificate you can use parameter 1643 to prevent sales lines being allocated on batches without the required certificate. The Order Entry screen was the only area where this was not yet adjustable. By setting parameter 2315 it is now also possible to block the direct allocation (by clicking on the batch, depending on options of the Order Entry screen) or at least give a warning. The parameter can be set to:
0 - Ignore the settings of the environmental certificate, simply allocate.
2 - Batches are visible but WinTree will not allocate, even when selected.
3 - Batches are visible, allocating the selected batch must been confirmed in a pop-up screen.

The value 1, which is not available yet for this parameter, is reserved for future development - possibly to hide batches which do not comply with the required certificate by the customer.

Issueno. 16856 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowCredit limit: option to set colours.

When using credit limits, an option can be set to display a pop-up screen with Credit information when booking a sales order or delivery note. Now it is also possible to give this pop-up screen a striking colour, in case the given limit falls under a certain amount. For this the properties of this screen must be changed. Open a random sales order in which a credit limit pop-up screen is shown. Right click in this pop-up screen and select Properties. In the displayed pop-up screen the minimum amount and the colour can be set. If the given limit falls under this amount, the whole screen will be coloured.

NOTE: This colouring is only used when amount of credit limit in the customer data is larger than 1, so 2 or higher.

Issueno. 18829 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowMaintain size in Order Entry screen (B).

When sales orders are booked using the Order Entry screen, this screen (using the properties) can be set to also use the size code, which is entered first, for the following lines. This enables faster booking of sales orders, of which the lines consist mainly of the same size. The last entered size code will also be used for the next line.
Issueno. 18294 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowTransfer quotations to sales orders: maintain sorting order.

When you transfer a quotation to a sales order the sorting order of the offer can be applied to the new sales order. When making a transfer you will find a setting for this in the pop-up screen. The default setting for this is ‘On’ - "Take over from quoation. This can be adjusted. With the [Save settings] button you can save the adjusted setting. The adjusted setting is saved to parameter 2354.

ShowDeliveries

ShowDelivery: accelerating the process of adjusting the number of delivery lines provided (B).

You can set parameter 2389 (value 10) in a way that, when delivering sales orders (using menu Delivery and the Direct button), quantity to deliver on the sales order are placed on the delivery note. Following this, the quantity delivered (delivery note - > Tab Delivery alterations) automatically enters only the allocated quantity. If a sales line has not been allocated, the line will still be shown in the delivery note, but with a quantity delivered = 0. The delivery note can be printed with the column Ordered and Delivered, where also the not-allocated quantities will be shown list in the column Ordered, but not in the column Delivered.

When the delivery note is subsequently confirmed, the not Delivered quantity will be automatically removed from the sales order, to prevent plants from being left in backorder.

Issueno. 18811 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowSplitting up the delivery based on the non-allocated part of the lines (B).

Lines on the delivery can be split up (Tab Delivery alterations  - > [Options] - > Change sales line). Using parameter 2316 it is possible to fill in by default, the quantity which needs to be split up with the unallocated part of the delivery note line. If the line which has to be split up is fully allocated, the entire number will be shown as a preferred quantity in the pop-up screen. This quantity can be changed.

When parameter 2316 is set to value 2 (use not allocated quantity ), in the pop-up screen the checkbox 'Do not take allocation to other delivery note line' will be automatically checked. This checkbox can still be unchecked if necessary. It is possible that a part of the allocation of the original delivery line is still taken along to the new delivery line.

Issueno. 18475 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowPlant sizes: excluding sizes from printing.

In the menu Stock items - > Maintain Plant sizes a new checkbox 'No label (sales)' is available. The checked sizes are excluded when printing sales order labels, sales order lifting /call up labels, delivery labels and delivery lifting/call up labels.

If the module In- and Outgoing Goods (module 122) is used, these sizes will also be excluded when labels are printed using a scanner. In the menu Confirm deliveries, the lines with "excluded" plant sizes are ignored when calculating the percentages "on label", "received", and "loaded". The same applies to the final check on the scanned quantities (when confirming the delivery), so those lines do not create a block when the delivery is confirmed.

Issueno. 18408 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowCMR: several delivery notes on one CMR.

In the menu Confirm Deliveries, several deliveries can be selected (Ctrl or Shift key). Using [Options] - > CMR, one CMR can be printed for the selected deliveries.
If several deliveries with the same delivery address are selected, the CMR screen is displayed immediately. The booked packing and the commodity  weights of the selected deliveries are added up.
If several deliveries with different delivery addresses are selected, a pop-up screen will be shown with the option which address needs to be displayed on the CMR. All the delivery addresses of the selected deliveries are shown here. In this screen you can also choose not to combine the deliveries. Next, only the CMR of the first selected delivery is printed.

In the menu Confirm Deliveries an extra column has been added, in which the CMR number is displayed on which the deliver has been printed. If a delivery is selected, which has already been printed on a CMR, you will be notified with a pop-up screen if a CMR for the delivery is printed again.

Issueno. 18342 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowCMR: printing of packing table.

In the menu Packing - > Maintain packing, you can indicate per packing type if the packing type needs to be listed in a table on a CMR. Aside this setting you also need to indicate in the properties of the CMR screen (once only, opened by clicking your right mouse button in any CMR) whether the table needs to be printed. If these settings have been made, on every CMR in section 6 an entry field for the packing types will be printed. Behind the packing types you find 2 columns: Load and Unload. The column Load will be propagated with the quantities of packing as entered in the delivery (Tab packing or Load). As with all other data on the CMR, these quantities can be still changed.

Also field 5 on the CMR has been extended with the customer number.

Issueno. 17403 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowPurchase

ShowPurchase batch: prevent returning to supplier.

Using parameter 1759 (value =2) it was already possible, when receiving goods, to disconnect the entire purchase from the stock batch. If the parameter is set to value 2, the user cannot return the batch to the supplier when an adjustment is made via a stock alteration.

The disadvantage of this parameter is that on the Tab Status in the purchase order, you can no longer see that the batch is received. When looking in the purchase order, it is therefore unclear what has happened to a batch.

To prevent this, parameter 1759 is extended with the value 3. This value acts like value 1 but with additional functionality:
- field 'original supplier' available and adjustable in Maintain stock.
- in the pop-up screen which is used when making an alteration, the default value of the radio button is determined by parameter 956 (for sales orders) and 957 (for deliveries). The remaining options cannot be changed.

IMPORTANT: Value 3 only works for batches which have been called after activation of the parameters. A called batch will be checked at the field 'Own stock', whereby the blockade will be shown when deleting a classification. Batches which have already been called cannot be treated like this.

ShowContacts

ShowOutput preference: make adjustable by customer / document (B).

For each contact you can indicate preferences for every document which is sent by e-mail or by fax. To do this, first add a contact person with all data to the contact. Re-open the contact and then open the Communication tab. Here the correct contact person can be selected by document. Also you can indicate which export preference the document has.
- Default: the setting from the frame Output preference is used.
- Fax: at an automatic output by fax, the document will be sent to the fax number of the indicated contact person. If the contact person has no fax number, the general fax number of the contact is used.
- E-mail: when sending via e-mail, the document will be sent to the e-mail address of the indicated contact person. If the contact person has no e-mail address, the general e-mail address of the contact is used.

With this setting it is possible, for example, to send a sales invoice document by e-mail. And a call-up list (contact is customer and supplier in this example) is sent by fax.

ShowAlgemeen

ShowPacking balance visible in several screens

Using parameter 2367 when you are booking packing, it is possible to immediately see the balance of the packing type of the contact. In the menu Packing--> In - and Outgoing packing, the total Outgoing and total Incoming becomes visible as soon as the packing code is entered. If the Outgoing total is larger than the Incoming total, the field Outgoing total will be coloured red. When booking packing in a sales order or delivery note these two total fields are visible as separate columns by booked packingline.

Also in the WinTree Cash & Carry program these two total fields are visible when booking packing.

ShowUsing @ and # codes in Header and Footer texts (B)

In more and more documents and e-mail texts it is desirable to incorporate variables in the header or footer text, as is already possible on the invoice. For this reason the possibility now exists to use these variables with @ and # codes, when composing the default header and footer texts. The codes can be used in text blocks when the module trade-functionality is used.

The # codes are general merge fields with which for example the employee name (based on the login in Wintree), e-mail address or phone number can be added to documents.

The @ codes have been extended so that, for example, the sales order number can be added in the default subject line of e-mails. These @ codes are different by document type.

Issueno. 7665 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowComplaints registration, internal mail to employee with delivery note number (B)

When using the Complaints registration function, the possibility exists to send an e-mail to the responsible representative in the organisation, whilst recording a complaint. The e-mail concerning this registration also now contains the delivery number to which the complaint is registered. This enables the representative to simply look up the entire delivery in Wintree and undertake the correct actions.
Issueno. 18317 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowImporting: distinguishing between internal and external text.

In version 8439 a start was made with further splitting up texts at purchase and own stock. When importing these data in the import profile, no differentiation can be made yet between the internal or external text. Still only 1 text field can be set in the import profiles for the import. The creation of this extra field is complicated and takes more time than is available at this moment. This distinction between internal and external text in the import profile, however, will be made available in the update scheduled for September 2016.

As a compromise in this version, you are able to indicate whether the text from the set up text column has to land in the external or internal text. If parameter 2390 is set to value 1, the text from an Excel file will be put in the internal text of puchase lines, but are also in the stock lines. By default, the text from an Excel file will be inserted in the external text of the lines.

ShowImproved processing speed (B)

The processing speed has been improved in a number of areas within Wintree.  Delivering sales orders (Menu Deliver sales orders), opening deliveries, but also the retrieving of deliveries to be invoiced have all been improved. Processing speed in Wintree will be further improved through future updates. ‘Do more in less time’ will continue to be implemented through 2016 and into 2017.

ShowTransport planning: number of improvements

The module Transport planning has been improved further. The following points have been added to the already existing functions:
- By setting parameter 2202 to value 2, for new lines the time is always put to 00:00.
- Adapt date in "transport-jobs still to carry out" leaves the line on the current position.
- By double clicking on a contact in a ride, from now on this contact, and no longer the transporter opens up.
- When parameter 2356 is set to value 1, an "Unload number" is added to the Transportlines. This is sorted in descending order (what is loaded first, must be unloaded last). The Unload number can be adapted manually.
- The column "Confirmed" can be changed by means of a multiple selection and right mouse click on the column for all selected lines, following the default WinTree method.
- A new field "date" is available by transport line.
- The new date field is also shown in the delivery note and the call menu.
- Using parameter 2357 you can indicate whether the detail information of a transport line can be accessed using the button [Info] (default value =1) or that it is always shown at the bottom of the screen (value = 2). If this parameter is set the current frame 'Other transports' at the bottom of the screen will disappear.
- By checking the new checkbox 'Show transports only', the tab with Transport information is suppressed, so that the entire screen is used for the overview of the current rides.
- When parameter 2326 is set to value 1, you can enter on the Tab Transport Info a number of freight entities, with behind this number a drop-down list with freight entities. The freight entities to be used (for example Pallet places and load meters) have to be added by TSD. These freight entities cannot be calculated by the program.
- In the Delivery note menu, Purchase orders and Call a field Load info is available. Here you can enter for example the number of load meters.
- In the Purchase orders menu, a transfer instruction can be introduced by purchase line. This is visible in the detail information of the Transportlines.

Please contact TSD for more information about this Transport planning module.

ShowPrinting of internal Fast Reports documents using Output server.  (B)

In the last version most of the external documents (documents intended for customers and/or suppliers) are converted to the new report generator Fast Reports. This not only offers report generator more development tools, this generator also gives an option to print documents using the server instead of at the work station. This way the user can continue in Wintree while the server processing the printing, faxing or e-mailing. In this version the internal documents which use Fast Reports are adapted so they can be printed by the server. Especially when printing large lists, such as the picking list, this enables you to continue working more rapidly in Wintree.

The use of Fast Reports in combination with printing via a server must be configured by TSD.

Issueno. 18579 (Version jan. 2016)

ShowTSD Wintree agent takes over Wintree tasks (B).

In the update of summer 2015, a large update had been made to convert the existing reports to a new Fast Reports report generator. The use of Fast Reports offers the Wintree developers numerous new possibilities to further improve Wintree. One of the examples is the possibility to file documents in an archive (see page Archive).

A number of tasks done by Wintree have now been taken over by the TSD Wintree agent. This program, displayed as a type of printer icon (next to the little clock) is started up automatically (dependent on parameter 1979) when Wintree starts. All Fast Reports documents which are printed by the server (value parameter 2397 is 1) are visible in the TSD Wintree Agent in the menu Output Print Server. If there are any errors, faxing or mailing, this is displayed at the icon of the TSD Wintree Agent. By default, the documents are saved for 7 days by the agent.

ShowStock count on tablet

ShowSeveral adaptations

For the Stock taking module using a tablet a number of improvements have been carried out;
- Adding vertical scroll bars.
- Exporting more columns of imported lines to Excel.
- Clean up stock sets in Nursery manager: The "Closing season" wizard now has an extra option to clean up the stock sets and optionally the associated date files as well.
- Clean up stock sets on a tablet: a button to clean up the sets and date files (sets which are sent by the user who is logged in).
- The data files are now removed after a successful import of the stock set on the tablet.
- Button Set to zero, confirm choice with Yes - No question.
- You can set the display of sizes based on qualities using the properties in the menu Stock -> Stock sets (this is stored in parameter 2091, value 2). Because of this an extra Quality button becomes visible, with which the Quality groups can be checked. These are stored in the set and join the export. It is however important that the basic set is downloaded to the tablet. Next, on the tablet the sizes are shown based on the selected quality groups in the set.

ShowPrint cash receipts: improved method

In the properties of C&C menu an extra option is built in to select between current method option 1: default only customer gets a cash receipt and no real invoice, and option 2: always a sales order-delivery note-invoice with the option of a cash receipt or an invoice on A4 format. You can also find an option present in these properties to indicate the number of prints of the cash receipt.

With the second new option the button [Print invoice] is replaced by [Cash receipt] and [Invoice] in the Pay screen. Wintree has created in the background an ordinary sales invoice, which can be reopened and can also be processed to the accounting package. Click on [Cash receipt] to print a Cash receipt on a Cash receipt printer. If the customer wants an A4 format invoice, click on [Invoice]. On the Cash receipt the invoice number will be printed too.

Please note: if the Cash receipt printer is graphically controlled, you will need to divide the header and closing text for the Cash receipt over several lines using <<enter>> to get all the lines on the print.
